The Carolinas Chapter hosted their 2nd GeoCarolinas conference in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 4 & 5, 2019. The sesquiennial event featured 12 invited speakers and poster presentations by 21 graduate students from the Carolinas. Geo-Institute President Beth Gross opened the conference Monday morning with welcoming remarks on national GI plans. The Deep Foundations Institute was a partnering association and their Director of Technical Activities, Mary Ellen Large, started the Tuesday session with an update on DFI activities. There were a total of 225 attendees, including 6 undergraduate student scholars and a sold-out exhibitor space. The student posters were presented at a roof-top reception, co-sponsored by PDCA of South Carolina.
